Addiction Treatment with Health Insurance. Attend Rehab with Insurance Coverage.

Most health insurance companies offer coverage for drug rehab and alcohol rehab in their policies. This coverage is most likely in your policy, too.

Affordable Care Act, Alcohol Rehab, and Drug Rehab

The American Affordable Care Act (ACA), also known as Obamacare, includes substance use disorders as one of the ten conditions that requires essential health benefits. This means that all reputable American health insurance plans have to provide insurance coverage for substance use disorders.

So, the ACA assures that as long as your insurance plan was issued after 2014, you will have at least some insurance coverage for addiction treatment and drug rehab in a qualifying rehab center.

Let Your Insurance Cover Rehab

Times have changed. This isn’t 1924. It’s not even 1974. Today, we know that substance use disorders are real, they destroy people’s lives, and there is very high-quality help available simply for the asking.

If you or a loved one suffers from a substance use disorder of any kind, and/or a mental health condition that perhaps contributes to a substance use disorder, it’s important to get the help needed to move past it.

A life free from the bondages of addictions and lived in the joy of mental well-being is indeed a life well worth living.

So if you want some help with addictions and/or mental wellness and your health insurance covers this kind of therapy, please, do yourself, your family, and actually your whole community a beautiful favor and tap into that insurance coverage to get the help that can liberate you from the chains of addiction and make your whole life so much freer and better. Because once you get a handle on living life without the bondage of addiction, you will wonder why you waited so long to give yourself the beautiful gift of enjoying and engaging with life so fully.

Asking for help is a sign of great strength, not weakness, at all! Remember that refusing to get help is the work of an oversensitive ego. And that it takes tremendous strength to reach out for a helping hand. Admitting you need help is the most difficult step – and the most important. There is no shame in asking for help. An individual’s addiction is bigger than the addicted individual, which is why people need help to move past it.

We are here for you.

How Much Does Rehab Cost?

The short answer to this question is, a lot more than most people want to pay for themselves if they have the option.

Using Health Insurance for Addiction Treatment

Most insurance companies cover rehab, as required by the Affordable Care Act. However, amount of coverage and specific treatments covered can vary widely among insurance policies.

Check Your Drug and Alcohol Rehab Insurance Coverage

As a first step to answer your question of how much coverage you have for addiction treatment, take a look at your health insurance policy or contact your insurance provider. You will want to know which addiction treatment services are covered under your plan and at what percentage. Look for information on co-pays, deductibles, and coverage limits for services including detox, inpatient rehabilitation, and outpatient treatment programs. Check for any support with transitional housing.

This insurance coverage language is often found in the insurance policy section regarding substance use disorder and substance abuse treatment. Terms “alcohol addiction” and “drug addiction” may also be present in the policy language.

You will next want to verify in-network providers for your policy. Many insurance plans use a network of preferred providers. These are treatment centers and healthcare professionals who have contracted with the insurance company to provide services at a reduced rate. When you choose an in-network provider, you can maximize benefits and minimize out-of-pocket costs.

It is important that you clearly understand your financial responsibility before embarking on addiction treatment. You need to know which services and expenses are not covered by your insurance plan and certainly any policy limits. Be sure to budget accordingly and explore payment options if needed.

Let Us Help

Premiere Recovery Center is an intensive outpatient treatment facility for addictions to substances of all types. We work with a lot of insurance companies and are pleased that today, we can offer more individuals the help they need because insurance coverage for substance use disorder is now commonplace.

We proudly serve the populations of Clackamas, Multnomah, and Washington Counties, with an occasional Clark County resident gracing our hallways. At our partial hospitalization facility in Happy Valley, Clackamas County, Oregon, we provide intensive outpatient therapy to individuals at Level 2.1 level of care, requiring 9-20 hours of treatment weekly, and at Level 2.5 level of care, requiring 20+ hours of weekly treatment. We receive patients when released from inpatient care (down-leveled from Levels 3+), and release them when they’ve progressed to the point where they require less than 9 hours a week of addiction therapy (Level 1). We work with patients’ professional schedules when possible. Our facility is comfortable, private, and quiet, all conducive to a powerful healing space.

Our intensive outpatient model replaces the traditional addiction therapy model in that it provides tailored, intensive outpatient care rather than inpatient care. This cuts costs considerably and helps smooth the transition back to the real world without compromising any therapy hours. We believe this makes the rehab experience better. Our patients have much more flexibility, which means freedom, and the feeling of freedom always enhances any life experience.

For those patients looking to extend the support received in therapy to the overnight hours, we have two residences in the area, located in Happy Valley (men) and Pleasant Valley (women). These are massive, beautiful homes that we’ve stocked with every imaginable comfort and amenity to guarantee our patients’ comfort during their treatment. The homes are safe, private, clean-and-sober, quiet, comfortable, spacious, and wholly supportive of the rehab experience.

As a next step after rehab at Premiere Recovery Center, we also have an affiliated transitional housing organization called Premiere Sober Living. These are clean-and-sober apartments housed with individuals that still prefer the support of a dedicated clean-and-sober environment and lifestyle 24/7.
